"How much time will you need?"

AnnaMerie thought about that for a few minutes "Honestly probably quite a while. What's the longest time slot within the next week?" She asked the secretary, enjoying the fact that she got the last word even if the council members really didn't care if she did or didn't get it

"Hm... Ah, one of our appointees dropped their meeting a few days ago, so you lucked out. In two days, we have an hour and a half slot. Though slots over an hour require approval. What is your purpose for the meeting? How important is it? I must file it and request it."

AnnaMerie smiled brightly at the news "If they know what the meeting's about do you still need to file for permission or would asking for the approval with that connection you have that you used earlier work?" She asked, half hoping she didn't need to think of some way to word what she was going to talk to them about.

"Or is it more of a matter of keeping things official?" AnnaMerie asked when she realized that was possible

"Well, we use it for data organization purposes. Though if the council directly approves it, they could file the data report themselves and send it to me. Normally we do not allow this bypass, but the organization seems to request your company quite a bit, so they might allow it. I shall ask." They went silent a moment before speaking again. "It appears they have cleared it. You're one lucky person, scoring such a long meeting so easily."

AnnaMerie chuckled "Well they're quite interested in my children" she said "and with everything my children and I have gone through its about time something comes across as easy" she said smiling at her "Thank you very much for your time - and theirs I suppose" she said "by the way if there's anything you specifically ever need any help with and you happen to see me here please don't be afraid to ask me" she told the girl

"Very well miss... um... Thanks." They smiled slightly and went back to their desk.

AnnaMerie chuckled and smiled at them before vanishing and sitting next to Richard in one swift movement. She hugged him and curled up a bit "In two days I have a meeting with them to talk about the glitches more and point out why they're not perfect even though they believe they are" she told him, completely exhausted

"Ah, fuck..." he jumped. "Don't do that..." He sighed and smiled at her when she explained her plans. "Good. You know, if they think the twins are perfect... Then if we have the twins tell them in their faces that the technicae aren't perfect... That might really impact them."

AnnaMerie smiled and kissed his jaw "That's a lovely idea" she said, thinking about what it would do to them - they damn near odolized her children "I mean, I honestly really find it rather entertaining that they think so highly of themselves - they don't do much more than Abby does - to my knowledge, and Abby's able to do it while helping thousands of people" she said to him "Whereas the Technique can't figure out how to do it" she said to him

He chuckled. "I think that's the problem... They have gotten so focused on perfection and flawlessness and efficiency... That they have forgotten that morals are a huge part of perfection. Heh, we should have the twins lecture the council on Morality and compassion and tell them that the only way they will ever come close to perfect is if they start caring about their people- ALL of their people. Not just the ones they deem useful.
"Having the twins scold them with us... That could have a gigantic impact and deal a huge blow to their overinflated egos. Maybe they'll be took down a notch. I get to come to, right? I wanna see their pride break. now let's just hope the council members are...programmed... To even have emotions other than pride and curiousity."

Andri walked into the kitchen having just gotten home. She had put her ankle in a brace. "What's got you two so excited?"

AnnaMerie jumped up and walked over to the counter where she made Andri a quick sandwich "Richard," she started "Are you really trying to ask if they have the emotion like curiosity? That's the only reason the twins are alive" she said to him "I almost died when the organization was being taken down remember? They took out the nanobots because they wanted to see what the kids would be like because they were just so damned curious about it" she explained as she went over to Andri

"Well you might be upset with me but I only had a fifteen minute meeting and I had to think quickly" she said biting her lip "I - ok...." she thought for a minute "I adopted two hundred and thirty one more children who I will be trying to find new homes for - the Glitches from the Technique....they were all going to be killed" she said, hoping Andri wouldn't be all that surprised by the whole thing

Andri opened her mouth to speak, then shut it and took her sandwich, taking a bite. "Okay, I'm surprised, but at the same time, I'm not surprised at all... Just... How do you plan to care for that many? While also making sure they have everything they need? You'll probably have to buy them all new chargers.. Cause I bet they gave them piece of shit ones in the orphanage. But please tell me you plan on adopting the kids out to your friends and stuff? There's just no way you can care for them all yourself."

Richard sighed. "Yeah, we're gonna try to adopt them out... She just had to save them all quickly. And Annamerie, I know they have curiousity. A shit ton of it. And it isn't ecen necessarily a bad thing. Like you said, their curiousity saved you.
"But I wonder if they are programmed to feel anything besides curiousity and Pride. It's an important question, 'cause we should know what possible emotions we could try to appeal to."

Andri rubbed her injured ankle as she thought a moment. "Hm... Well richard... Each technicae has its own unique emotional capacities... But most are programmed with at least some compassion."

"So all we need to do is appeal to their better nature I guess" AnnaMerie said as she sat back down and ran her hands through her hair "I told them to wait three weeks so we could make the proper house and everything they need" she explained

"I haven't gotten into the prices yet though...." she trailed "All together it's fifty thousand dollars for the first one hundred children they're sending in three weeks...." she said and paused for a minute to do the math for the next one hundred thirty-one children "And for the rest when the house for them is entirely completed...." she looked at them "it's an additional sixty-five thousand five hundred dollars to adopt...." she had the money, but it would still make quite the dent in their income and what they had for spending money

"I just need to hope that the amusement park and the donors keep giving" AnnaMerie said to her as she sat down again

"However," she said suddenly "I do have a meeting with them that's an hour and a half long in two days" she informed them as she took a sip of her tea and leaned back in the chair

"However to make the house" she said, changing the subject again "it's probably going to be a few hundred thousand dollars, and then the chargers....well at least everything is built in - Abby might be willing to help and that would bring the price down drastically if she can get Jazzy to make the chargers for us...." she said trying to figure out other avenues to cut through

"You know, I'm sure nini could help us get the chargers... and adopt out the kids. I mean if anyone has the resources for this stuff, it's her." Richard pointed out.

"Maybe I should start actually hunting." Andri shrugged. "Wouldn't be a stretch. Kill and sell, or relocate if possible, mountain lions and the like that are harming communities... I try to help out with that already, now I'd just be accepting rewards if they can afford to give them. Sounds like a good job for me."

"Abby, Richard you've been reading too much about the past - remember Nini retired and Abby took over. Nini only advises Abby now" AnnaMerie corrected before leaning back "I know she could help - she has more than a few recources - especially with how much she's grown the company over the years. It's incredible" she told him before shaking her head "Perhaps she'd be willing to help"

"Right, Abby then."

Andri blushed at the helicopter comment. "I don't know about that- I'd feel too unsafe in a helicopter, I think. I uh... I don't like heights..."

AnnaMerie looked at her "So, wait have you ever been in a helicopter or somewhere high up?" She asked Andri curiously, leaning forward a bit "I mean seriously they can be fun" she said pulling out a chair for Andri

"I have, but I hate it... It's not safe... Being so high up... What if you were to fall? I mean sure there's  parachutes, but if your parachute fails then you're dead..." Andri sighed. Thousands of years and the one thing she was still most afraid of was heights. "Or in my case, I would probably shatter like every bone and my spine and just like, be stuck there forever since I can't die. At least, not in that way. But... The pain and the paralysis... And the possibility of never being found..."

AnnaMerie rose an eyebrow "But if you take the proper precautions then there wouldn't be any hurting - what about rock climbing?" She asked "Do you like to rock climb?" She asked her leaning forward slightly

"Isn't there just one specific weapon that kills you or something?" She asked leaning back, trying to remember exactly what it was.

"Richard are you hungry?" AnnaMerie asked him suddenly trying to get him talking again

"Well, every precaution must be taken... I mean, that's a bit more controlled... it's more frightening in open air like being in a helicopter, or being close to like the edge of a cliff... I need things to be very controlled and predictable... VERY."

Richard nodded.

"What do you want to eat Richard" AnnaMerie asked, and looked to Andri "Ah well I won't push you then, but I still think you'd look hot as all hell" she said smirking as she stood up to start making whatever it was Richard wanted - she was getting fidgety, which could have been a result to lack of sleep, or just having a sudden amount of energy because she knew that she was going to win this whole thing.

"You seem confident," Andri remarked, eating her sandwich. "That's good. The technicae are full of shit and will probably fight stubbornly not to change. They are set hard in their ways. They've been doing this for hundreds if not thousands of years... I've never liked the. I appreciate their desires to become more advanced, but.. The lengths they go to achieve their perfection.... I wish you luck. I can't come. I would end up yelling in their faces."

Richard thought a moment. "I don't have much of an appetite... Soup, I guess?"

AnnaMerie sat up a bit straighter and looked Andri right in the eyes "I know I'll make it" she told her, leaning back a bit "What they're doing isn't right and I don't care how long it takes they're going to change and their going to do it faster than they're comfortable doing it, because I'll round about their logic until they can't make it anymore" she continued "I don't care what I have to do to prove they're wrong but I know I'm going to start with pointing out how the rest of the species - here especially, are better than they are" she said putting her fist on the table and smiled, determined every pragmatic and illogical way.

"Well, if anyone can do it, you can, Annamerie." Andri shrugged. "I believe youre just as stubborn if not more so than they are. It's a battle of who can out-stubborn the other." She chuckled. "I think you'll do great."
